Stop Watching the Scoreboard

By on 16 September, 2015

In sports as in life, keeping your eyes on the scoreboard when you should be focusing on your performance is a recipe for failure.

Don’t get distracted by what everyone else is doing. All you should be doing is focusing on the very next thing you need to do to ensure success. If you know what your end goal is and you’ve defined how to get there, then the only thing that matters is that next action you need to complete to nudge you one step closer. Nothing else. And once you’ve done that, then the next action, and the next, and so on. It doesn’t matter what anyone else is doing because that will not change your performance.

Getting distracted by all the other noise will take you off track and impact your results negatively. Stay the course and believe in your game plan. You know you can succeed, but the best way to do so is to persevere on what needs to be done by relaxing and confidently moving through each step, one at a time. The scoreboard doesn’t change anything.

Keep growing and stay healthy!
